Well, today was one of those days that just don't happen often enough. I got a chance to relax a bit! Come to think of it though, I did quite a bit today. I got up this morning for a squash match around noon. I lost :( My head just wasn't in the game until too late. After my match, I had a quick shoulder workout then headed home. I lounged around a bit, did a bit of tidying, and then met Jen for a movie. We went to see "Life Aquatic". I heard so many good things about it.... what a let down! Definatley NOT a theatre movie. Probably not even a renter! But if you have the movie network and it comes on.... and you're hung over and too lazy to change the channel, then you can watch it. There were a couple funny parts, but it hardly made up for the rest of the boredom the film reaked of. Maybe you liked it, I dunno.... but this "comedy" just didn't do it for me. And don't get me wrong... I love weird flicks... this one was just weird and stupid. OK... enough bashing it. After the movie we came back here and cooked dinner. I recently got some new recipe cards. It's part of my new Year's resolution to eat in more. We had Country Chicken Casserole... and there's plenty left for lunch tomorrow :)
Yesterday wasn't very eventful, however Friday was. Jen & I went to her friend Sam's movie fund raiser party. It was at a bar called "Swallow". What a crap, pretentious name for a bar. Whatever. Anyway, we had a good time. We finally got a nice pic of the two of us so I thought I'd post it for you. What a cute couple, eh? ;)

What else is new since my last post? Oh ya... my sleep study from last Sunday! That was interesting! It's the 2nd time I did one... the first time was back in 2000. It's pretty hard to sleep with 19 leads hanging off you! I had them no my head to pick up brainwaves, on my jaw to detect clenching/grinding, beside my eyes to pick up eye movement, 2 bands: one around my chest the other around my abdomin to pick up breathing. A little wire under my nose to measure the air passing, and one over my mouth. 2 on my knees to pick up motion, and a lead off my finger to pick up temperature, heart rate, and oxygen saturation levels. Ya, not a very natural sleep! And to top it off, there's a camera w/ motion sensor and mics in the room. I should get my results in a few weeks. If my apnea's gotten worse, I hope I can get a mask to treat it. Sure, it's a pain in the ass, but it's best for my health in the long run! Well, that's about it for now. It's getting late, I'm getting tired, and I'm going to bed! Hope you're all doing well... Cheers!

Wow, it is COLD out! This week has been a real chiller.... getting down as low at -35 C (including windchill). It's nice to be back inside. Jen & I just went out for brunch @ the Golden Griddle then walked back to my place. It's about a half hour walk... and a cold one at that! Anyway, I'm finally thawed out. The fireplace I got has made thawing out much easier and more enjoyable! Last night we went out to dinner @ Hy's Steak House with our friends Sean & Anoinette. It's a bit over priced, but we enjoyed a fine meal none-the-less. This past week has been a weird one. My hours at work have been a little nuts.... Wednesday night I was doing some work and didn't get out of there until 3:45 AM!!! I was back in the next morning at 9 just to make sure all the changes went well, and fortunately, the changes were seemless. I left around 3 to go to the gym. What a difference a couple hours makes! Lately it's been insane in there, but during work hours, it was empty! I really enjoy my workout when I didn't have to wait for equipment or rush to get off. Friday was very similar since I never got there until close to 9 PM. I finally finished up some stuff at work that had been hanging over me for too long. What a load off :) Anyway, all's well with me. Tonight will be strange though. I am going to a sleep disorder clinic. I've been once before, a few years back. I'm getting tested again for sleep apnea. Last time I had a mild case, but I think it's gotten worse. I'm snoring a LOT and really loud! So much that my throat is hurting in the morning. And when I get up, an 8 hour sleep feels about as fulfilling at a 2 hour nap. Not good! So, if they do find I have sleep apnea, I may get a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure.... AKA: a mask). If that's the case, I look forward to restful nights where I actually get recharged. Well, I guess I'll find out tomorrow morning! Well, I guess that's all for now. When I get a chance, I'll post some new pics up. But until then.... adios! Take care all!

Wow, where do I even start?!?!? For those of you who check my site regularily, you'll know that it's been over a month since my last update! And even it was way overdue! That's going to change.... I'll be updating reguarily again. Why the downtime? I was redoing my solarium and that's where I keep my computer. The project went way longer then I wanted it to, and even then, it took that much longer to setup my PC. Actually, it's a new PC that I've finally moved over to permanently. So... now that I'm back up and running, you can lok forward to another year here at robgirard.com! I've got some pics of the home renovations I've done in my solrium, but I'nm not completely organized on my new PC and gettng pics from my camera to the web is still not the easy process it was. But it will be again soon and you can see them then. So, now that I've got the 'splainin' out fo the way.... read on.

Happy New Year to everyone! All the best in 2005! And although it's pretty late, Merry Christmas while I'm at it. I hope Santa was good too all you boys and girls. My Christmas was very nice. I went back home to visit to my family in Windsor. Laura is finally back from Australia. It was great to see her again.... it had been almost a year since I'd last seen her... and that was in Australia! Speaking of which, I miss that hot Australian sun!!! Although I can't complain too much about the weather we've been having, it's definately NOT summer! More then anything, I think I miss roller blading the most. Although I had some setbacks over the summer that kept me off my blades for well over a month (broken rib), I still managed to get in over 300 KM's, or so I would guess. This year I plan to keep better track of that. And I hope to get in a LOT of blading. The goal for this year's blading? 750 KMs!!!! Sure, it's a lot, but why set a goal that I KNOW I can beat? This way I'll really have to bust my ass to achieve it. If I can ever get that speedometer working, it'll be that much easier! I had an idea of making a little meter on my site to measure my progress, similar as to what you would see on a charity's site trying to raise X amount of $$$.

My year's off to a good start. Things are going Grrrreat! Jen and I are still seeing each other and I couldn't be happier. She's such a sweetheart and she treats me really well! Just yesterday she made me a lunch for work, and it was amazing! Turkey breast marinara w/ cheese on a bun with a salad, fruit & snack! She even through in a bagel for breakfast! She's a real keeper! :) What else is new? Workouts at the gym are going well. I've been going 3 - 5 times per week. It's kinda crap right now with all the new year's resolutioners... but they won't last. They never do. In a month or so, it'll thin out again and become much more enjoyable. I'm back in the squash courts once a week as well. I hope to pick that up to atleast twice per week, but my knees have a tough time with that. I started going to Physio therapy back in the beginning of December. I'm starting to feel a difference and I'm hoping w/ the stretches and exercises he's given me, along with the ultrasounds, my kneeds won't hurt as much. Well, I better get running. I could probably ramble on all day.... it's been that long since I've last posted! But I won't... I've rambled long enough. I hope you're all doing well. I'm checking my email at home again, so feel gree to write me and let me know how you are. Take care!
